Quick Start Guide - 03

eCover 3D Environment

Once you have modified the face, we will apply it to the template and save this template as a new one.

To do this, first go to the Template Editor (Ctrl-T), right click on the Front face and then click on Set face
from 2D Environment
.

A new window will appear with all the image windows opened in the 2D Environment. Double click on an
image to select it. To continue, simply select the face that we modified previously.

Once selected, you will immediatelly see the updated template. You can change the template name from
the text box above the right viewport.

After asigning a name, we will save the template by clicking on the Save button. Type a name in the
Save dialog and click Ok.

Now that we have our template created and ready to be applied on a model, we will access the 3D View.

To do this, first click on the Back button to exit Template Editor, and then click on View menu ->
3D View
or simply press Ctrl-W.

The 3D View is a completely customizable 3D Environment. From this module you will be able to set
lighting parameters, model rotation, model scaling, camera movement, reflection parameters, etc.

We will apply our template to the Book model. To do this, click on the Change template button and select
the previously saved template.

Again, the message box requesting confirmation for setting the proper model will appear. Click Yes and
you will see the Book model with the selected template applied.

As you can see, with these simple steps we have completed the cover creation path and our cover is almost ready.

To finish this tour, you can first try modifying the camera angle, just by clicking and dragging on the main
viewport. You can also modify other aspects by clicking on a the Modify button.

Once you have configured your model, you can save it as an image by clicking on the Save Image button.
On the save dialog, type a name and a graphics format and the image will be saved.

As you can see, the image formats are standard formats that can be imported from any application
like eCover 3D and you can simply insert them into HTML documents.
